Mike Baur is one of the founders and managing partner of Swiss Startup Factory. Baur, a Swiss businessman and an entrepreneur is from Fribourg Switzerland and has over 20 years worth of experience in Swiss Private Banking. Baur developed an interest in banking and finance while still a teenager, and thus it is a great satisfaction that today he has accomplished her childhood dream and passion.
Mike started his career as a commercial apprentice at UBS and worked his way up through the ranks to become an executive member of one of the largest Swiss Private Bank. Baur then left to start his own company and together with Max Meister, and Oliver Walzer founded Swiss Startup Factory in the year 2014. The company was created with the aim of starting global companies that would disrupt the prevailing norms, products, and business models. Swiss Startup Factory is a Zurich-based accelerator company that targets thriving digital entrepreneurs. Swiss Startup Factory runs a three months start-up accelerator program for its clients where they provide them with the unique platform of services, coaching, mentoring, an office space at the heart of Zurich and an entrepreneurial network. Swiss Startup Factory has a strong business network in Switzerland and around the globe. Swiss Startup factory today boasts of being the number one independent and privately owned company that finances early stage ICT startup accelerator in Switzerland. At the Factory Baur is responsible for fundraising as well as financing rounds.
Baur is an alumnus of University of Rochester New York and holds an MBA from the same University and an Executive MBA from the University of Berne.
Baur has participated in a couple of events and among them is the University of St Gallen start-up pitching contest where he participated as a Jury member of the START summit.
Swiss Factory partnered with CTI in January 2016 and Baur became the deputy managing director of CTI Invest. In early 2016 Baur was in the forefront in leading in leading the Factory accelerator program with Goldback Group and in February 2016 he also led another partnership with Fintech Fusion.
Baur in December 2016 was featured in the wall Street Journal which profiled his early career at Swiss Banking to the time he ventured into entrepreneurship and formed Swiss Startup Factory.
